Common Name:  Grass-runner Tiger Beetle

Latin Name:  Cicindela cinctipennis imperfecta
                        (R. Bercha, det.)

Length:  8 to 10 mm

Range: Big Horn Dam area

Habitat:  Sandy and forested areas

Time of year seen:  Late summer and spring

Diet: Insects

Other:  The last time this beetle was seen in Alberta was in the 1960's before the Big Horn Dam was constructed and the reservoir  (Lake Abraham) was filled covering the beetle habitat
with water (Acorn, 2001).
