Common Name: Carrion Beetle

Latin Name: Thanatophilus lapponicus (Herbst, 1793)
                        (R. Bercha, det.) 

Length:  9 - 14 mm

Range: Alberta

Habitat: Various

Time of year seen: March - October (Additional Sightings)

Diet: Carrion

Other:  A common widespread species found across Canada.  There are two generations each year.
