Green-striped Grasshopper is found across Canada. It is a color
dimorphic species being either tan or green. The tan phase appears to
be more common in males. Adults of this grasshoppers are among the
first to be seen in the spring. They typically appear late in May and
are mostly gone by the end of June. This species is not a pest in
Alberta, however in some rare cases it can reach pest numbers in Ontario and
other eastern parts of Canada. (Vickery et al, 1985 & D.L. Johnson, 2005). |
