Length:  34 to 36 mm

Range:   Alberta

Habitat:  Shallow, grassy and reedy ponds, lakes and marshes

Time of year seen:  June to October (Additional Sightings)

Diet: Soft-bodied flying Insects

Other: The wide band of rusty brown on the basal half of the wings is a distinguishing characteristic.
