Common Name:  White-tailed Bumble Bee

Latin Name:  Bombus moderatus Cresson, 1863
                        (R. Bercha, det.)

Length:  Queen: 19-20 mm
                Worker: 11-17 mm
                 Male 14-16 mm

Range:  Throughout Alberta

Habitat:  Various

Time of year seen:  Mid March to October  (Additional Sightings)

Diet: Nectar and pollen

Other: One of the first Bumble Bees out in the spring.
