Range: Throughout Alberta

Habitat:  River margins and near willows

Time of year seen: April to mid-august (Additional Sightings)

Caterpillar's Diet:  Willow and poplar

Other:  The Eyed Hawkmoth is a common widespread species found across Canada from Newfoundland to British Columbia and north to the Yukon.  It is found along rivers and low areas with willow and poplar.  The adults are active during the night and are attracted to light.  The long flight season, from April to mid-August, is indicative of more then one generation per year.
