Other: The White-dotted Prominent is a common
widespread species found across North America, ranging from Florida to
California and north into Canada. In Alberta it is found predominantly
in the Boreal Forest region as far north as Lake Athabasca and towards the
Peace River. It is less common in the Aspen Parkland areas.
Nadata gibbosa is a relatively large yellow-brown to
rusty-orange moth, with distinct postmedian and antemedian lines. It
has a pair of circular small white spots near the top center of each forewing.
Male antennae have comb-like teeth on both sides (bipectinate) while the females have simple antennae.
Its coloration and markings make it distinct from other Alberta moths. (Anweiler,
